The most modern iteration of the Volkswagen Kombi takes the crown in the WhatCar? 2023 Awards, and here’s why.

The all-new Volkswagen ID. fully electric range has already made currents in the EV world. The Volkswagen ID.4 claimed the accolade of World Car of the Year in 2021 and now, the yet to be launched to the New Zealand market, Volkswagen ID. Buzz has been named WhatCar? Car of the Year 2023.

This electric van brings Volkswagen’s iconic T1 Kombi camper van into the new era so that you can find new adventures, no matter where you are. But instead, it has clearly thrown everything at the car, with this resulting in something that combines the practicality of an MPV with the comfort and refinement of a premium SUV and the potentially low running costs of an electric vehicle.

This is a car that you can buy with your head and your heart, then – one that doesn’t fit neatly into an established box but which is all the better for this. In short, it moves the game on more than any other model launched in the past 12 months, so it has to be our Car of the Year.”

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is anticipated to land on New Zealand shores in 2023.
