Ranui House Volkswagen Miles Continental car handover

Three Years of Partnership with Rānui House and Countless Lives Touched

Close Relationships

This year marks the third year of our relationship with Rānui House Bone Marrow Cancer Trust, and we couldn’t be prouder to continue supporting all the incredible work Rānui continues to do.

Recently, our Miles Continental Volkswagen General Manager, Nico Swanepoel, and Vehicle Sales Manager, Thomas Palmer, had the pleasure of handing over a brand-new Tiguan R-Line 2WD to Mandy Kennedy, CEO of the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust, and Jodie Gill, Development and Relationship Manager at Rānui House. What made it even more special, was that we were able to deliver to the latest edition to the new Rānui Apartments.

The New Tiguan R-Line

Regarded for its safety, practicality, and stylish design, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is a well-equipped midsized SUV that combines sporty aesthetics with practical features. Perfect for zipping around, whether it’s town or country, it’s the perfect vehicle for Rānui House to get from point A to B, allowing them to continue to do their exceptional work.

Rānui House

The Bone Marrow Cancer Trust was established in 1990 by a dedicated group of volunteers and haematologists with the aim of raising funds to create the first bone marrow transplant unit in New Zealand. In 1993, the first Rānui House (known as ‘Little Rānui’) was built. It quickly reached capacity, with sadly some families having to be turned away. Since then, Rānui House has expanded its accommodation facilities four times, with the most recent addition being the Rānui Apartments on Selwyn Street, Christchurch.

Rānui House offers more than just accommodation; it offers comfort and a sense of home that brings reassurance during some of the most challenging times for patients and their families. The addition of the new Rānui Apartments allows the Trust to further extend its support, ensuring that even more Kiwi families have access to a home away from home when they need it most.

Looking Ahead

We’re honoured to support the important work Rānui does for thousands of Kiwi families. As we look to the rest of the year, our team is excited to be involved once again in their initiatives and fundraising efforts — they’re already crafting their dinner menu for the annual Meals from the Heart competition.

We’re committed to strengthening our partnership with the Rānui House Bone Marrow Cancer Trust and working together to create a lasting, positive difference for families across Aotearoa.
