The Volkswagen Polo is New Zealand’s Stuff Top Car of the Year

Press release from Volkswagen New Zealand
16 November 2018

Every year hundreds of new vehicles are assessed by motoring journalists and ranked on their merits against their competitors. This year, Volkswagen Polo has won the supreme award – Stuff Top Car of 2018. Now it’s New Zealand’s best car, taking the top spot over all cars on the market.

“I do get very biased with our vehicles. I think our whole range is amazing, however there is something quite special about the Polo. The new Polo personifies everything that is great about Volkswagen and we are so very happy that it has won this award.”  states Tom Ruddenklau, General Manager Volkswagen New Zealand.

“It presents as a budget-priced supermini, but in fact what you’re getting is a package of engineering excellence, outstanding quality, surprising practicality and unexpectedly high levels of driver entertainment.” Stuff.co.nz

The new generation Polo was introduced in February 2018. It includes four impressive models, offering more choice than ever. The TSI, Beats, R-Line and GTI, the result is a broad range of models to suit different lifestyles and available from $25,490.

The all-new Polo wows with its high-tech features not expected from a small car

Polo stood out among the competition for its advanced technology, good looks and on-road capabilities. A class leader for its fuel efficiency and safety, Stuff journalists have labelled the Polo “the Simply Brilliant Allrounder.” Read the full review here.

With 17 million units sold world-wide, Polo has become an icon in its own right. Since its launch, Polo has also picked up accolades off shore including the prestigious Urban car of the year award at the New York Auto Show in March this year.
