Celebrating Four Years of Partnership with Rānui House

At Miles Continental Volkswagen, we know how important it is to be involved in our community. That’s why we’re proud to continue our partnership with Rānui House, helping support the critical work they do for Kiwis and their whānau travelling to Christchurch for life-saving medical treatment.

This year marks four years of partnering with Rānui House, a relationship that has grown into something truly special and touched the lives of many families. Since 2022, we have stood alongside Rānui House and the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust as they provide accommodation, care, and practical assistance for families facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

As part of this ongoing commitment, we recently had the pleasure of handing over a new Volkswagen Tayron to the Rānui House team. The vehicle will assist with day-to-day operations as they continue caring for patients and families from across New Zealand.

“The relationship we have with Miles Continental Volkswagen is a special one. We are always amazed by their commitment to supporting whānau staying at Rānui, at a time when they often need it most. We are so grateful for this partnership and look forward to growing our shared impact into the future.”

Delivering a New Volkswagen Tayron

Following the handover of a Volkswagen Tiguan last year, we’re proud to now supply Rānui House with the latest-generation Volkswagen Tayron Elegance.

Our Sales Manager, Thomas Palmer, and Brand Executive, Sam Aitken, recently handed over the vehicle to Mandy Kennedy, CEO of the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust, along with Michael Heywood, Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager.

Featuring custom Rānui House signwriting, the Tayron will support a wide range of operational needs. Whether travelling across Christchurch or further afield, it provides a practical and dependable solution for the organisation’s daily activities.

As a well-equipped 7-seater SUV, the Tayron is regarded for its safety, versatility, and refined design. It offers a strong balance of space, comfort, and versatility, making it well-suited to the varied travel requirements of Rānui House’s important work.

It is a privilege to play a small part in Rānui House’s commitment to providing a true home away from home for patients and their families during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

We remain deeply committed to their cause and are honoured to supply the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust with a new Volkswagen, helping them stay mobile and continue delivering the invaluable support and services that make such a difference to so many New Zealanders.”

Beyond the Road

Alongside vehicle support, our involvement with Rānui House has continued to evolve through a range of activities.

Over the years, we have proudly participated in initiatives including the Annual Charity Golf Tournament, Meals from the Heart, and several fundraising and awareness events contributing to both Rānui House and the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust.

These initiatives provide valuable opportunities to connect with our community while helping raise awareness and funds for the individuals and families who rely on Rānui House. We are grateful to play a small part in the wider network that helps make their work possible.

About Rānui House

For more than three decades, the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust has supported thousands of patients and their whānau from across New Zealand who have had to travel to Christchurch for life-saving treatment.

Founded by volunteers and haematologists, the Trust helped establish New Zealand’s first bone marrow transplant unit and continues today as a charity supported by donors nationwide.

Since opening in 1993, Rānui House has expanded to meet increasing demand. This includes the addition of the Rānui Apartments in 2024, providing 54 purpose-built units for families in need.

Alongside accommodation, the Research Trust continues to fund life-saving, world-class cancer research through its annual grants programme.

Looking Ahead

We’re honoured to continue supporting the important work of Rānui House and the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to strengthening this partnership to help create a positive and lasting impact for Kiwis nationwide. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Rānui House and the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust for the incredible work they do every day, and for their continued trust and partnership.
