Infotainment
The 8″ Infotainment system is standard on all models and easy to use. The system works similar to a smartphone, so swiping and searching comes naturally. The sleek glass display allows for clear map views and turn by turn directions mean you can keep your eyes on the road.
Active Info Display is an innovative design upgrade for the Golf. The 12.3″ high-definition digital screen sits behind the steering wheel, and allows you to choose and customise your view from navigation, infotainment, driver assistance, and vehicle status at your fingertips.
The Smartphone Connectivity allows you to select your smartphone’s screen apps, maps, and music through App-Connect, keeping you connected, informed, and safe on the road.
Advanced Active Safety
The Front Assist with Pedestrian monitoring is a must for any driver – and standard across the range. Potential collisions ahead of your vehicle are detected by the radar sensors, which will warn the driver and apply braking to help prevent a collision.
The Adaptive Cruise Control is the ultimate in road trip luxury and city driving, and standard across the range. The system allows you to set your desired speed and gap to allow between you and the car ahead of you. The Golf works to maintain that speed and gap, adjusting when necessary. Imagine that driving down to Queenstown!
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert uses an LED display in the exterior mirror to alert you of the potential dangers in your blind spot. The Rear Traffic Alert monitors any traffic passing in the rear of the vehicle. If your car comes too close to another vehicle, you’ll be altered with an audio and visual warning. This feature is standard on the Highline and R-Line models.
Convenience
With the Smart Key & Push Button Start there is no key necessary to unlock your car. This handy feature is standard on all models. Simply approach your Golf with the keys in your pocket and the car will automatically unlock when you reach to open the door. Push the start button once inside and be on your way.
LED Headlights offer a clear view of what’s ahead in difficult lighting conditions. Standard on the R-Line, these headlights have lower energy consumption, faster response time, and a longer service life.
Rear View Camera & Parking Sensors make backing out of tight spaces easy and safe. Coupled with the front and rear parking sensors, the rear view camera displays a live picture of what’s behind you.
Standard on all models, the Electromechanical Parking Brake & Auto Hold replaces the conventional handbrake. The Auto Hold function allows the ABS hydraulic unit to hold the brakes, allowing you to comfortably take your foot off the pedal.
Performance & Driving Dynamics
Ready for speed? The Powerful Turbocharged Engine (TSI) packs a punch with a highly responsive turbocharged engine, designed to deliver maximum torque from engine speeds as low as 1500rpm. This translates to excellent drivability and instant acceleration. The Comfortline offers 92kW of power and 200Nm of torque, while the Highline and R-Line offer 110kW of power and 250 Nm of torque.
The Sports Suspension, exclusive to the Highline and R-Line models, keeps the Golf responsive and composed while driving through bends. This increases the stability, responsive steering, and ride comfort at any speed.
The clever Electronic Differential Lock achieves accurate and sportier handling and cornering in all conditions. Operating on both axles, it applies precise braking pressure to the wheel on the inside when cornering.
