Spotlight on the Volkswagen Polo

The Volkswagen Polo is a force to be reckoned with. Winner of Stuff’s 2018 Top Car of the Year and the 2018 World Urban Car of the Year, the sixth generation Polo keeps turning heads for both its impressive style and advanced safety and connectivity features.

Not convinced about the Polo yet? That’s okay, sit back with a cuppa and prepare to be amazed with these special features.

Infotainment

The 8″ Infotainment system is standard on all models, and easy to use. Designed similar to a smartphone, you can touch, swipe, and quickly find the features you need. The system includes an SD card slot, two USB ports, and playback for MP3 and WMA files – all pumped through six velvet smooth speakers. To sweeten the deal, the Polo connects with Apple CarPlay, Andriod Auto, and MirrorLink – keeping all the apps you want right at your fingertips.

Active Info Display (optional on the R-Line and GTI) displays a full LCD screen with configurable views on your dash. Switch between navigation, infotainment, driver assistance, and vehicle status with a flick of your fingers.

The Beats Sound System is a must for any music lover. With six loudspeakers and a subwoofer, your music listening experience will never be the same. What’s more, this feature offers exclusive Beats badges so you’ll show off your music loving status from the exterior as well.

Volkswagen Polo Advanced Safety

Advanced Active Safety

The Front Assist with Pedestrian monitoring is a must for any driver. The radar sensor detects a potential collision ahead, warns the driver, and applies braking to help prevent a potential collision.

Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert uses an LED display in the exterior mirror to alert you of the potential dangers in your blind spot. The Rear Traffic Alert monitors any traffic passing in the rear of the vehicle. If your car comes too close to another vehicle, you’ll be altered with an audio and visual warning.

The Adaptive Cruise Control is the ultimate in road trip luxury and city driving, optional on the R-Line and GTI. The system allows you to set your desired speed and gap to allow between you and the car ahead of you. The Polo works to maintain that speed and gap, adjusting when necessary. Imagine that driving down to Queenstown!

Driver Fatigue Detection is your own personal fatigue assistant. The Polo will continually evaluate for signs of fatigue, such as irregular steering movements, lane deviations, and pedal usage. If fatigue is detected, the system warns you with audible alarms and visual alerts, recommending you take a break. A great excuse to pull over and go for a quick stroll.

Convenience

Feel the luxury with the Smart Key & Push Button Start – no key necessary to unlock your car. Simply approach your Polo with the keys in your pocket and the car will automatically unlock when you reach to open the door. Once inside, push the start button to be on your way.

LED Headlights not only look slick, but offer exceptional illumination for the road ahead and while turning. This feature is standard only on the R-Line and GTI.

Rear View Camera & Parking Sensors make reversing a breeze. Coupled with front and rear parking sensors, you and those behind you are more likely to be seen and stay safe while driving.

Exclusive to the R-Line and GTI, Sports Seats offer the ultimate in ergonomic luxury.

Driving Profile Selection offers handling in many different modes, including Normal, Sport, Eco, and Individual.

The clever Electronic Differential Lock achieves optimal handling in all conditions. Operating on both axles, it applies precise braking pressure to the wheel on the inside when cornering.

Don’t just take our word for it;

“I knew I wanted a small car and had narrowed my choice down to a handful of options. I arrived for my test drive with no intention to buy on the day but after my test drive I knew the decision was easy, I was getting a Polo GTI. The active info display was impressive and after a couple of months driving the car, I still am just as impressed as I was on the test drive. The different driving modes mean  I can drive to suit the situation or even my mood at the time. Certainly no regrets about my decision to go with the Polo.” -Jonathan S., recent owner of a Polo GTI
