Since the debut of the GTI in 1976, the original DNA of this Golf model has remained unchanged. The Golf GTI has been repeatedly refined and perfected over generations, all the while retaining its classy, confident design. A compact, low-weight hatchback body, powerful 4-cylinder engine, crisp suspension, and of course, that iconic sporty red stripe along the radiator grille make this Golf a head-turner.

In August 2020 Volkswagen launches a new evolutionary stage of this cult classic – the Golf GTI TCR. Polished like a rough diamond, this version is a motorsport-inspired road version of the racing car of the same name. Delivering 213kW (at 5,900-6,400rpm) from its 2.0L turbo engine, the new Golf GTI TCR is 33kW more powerful than the limited-edition Golf GTI Luxury, while the wide torque plateau – 380Nm lying between 1,700-5,800rpm – ensures equally superior and agile drive characteristics.
