Miles Continental is proud to continue supporting the Rānui House Bone Marrow Cancer Trust. To celebrate the start of another year of ongoing support, some of our staff recently teed off with Rānui House and golfing enthusiasts, who also double as Rānui House philanthropists for the trust.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, an incredible amount of almost $54,000 was raised, enabling vital research towards bone marrow and blood-related cancers to continue. A portion of the funds will also support medical students in this field, with the aim of improving outcomes for cancer patients.
We were proud to supply the grand prize of a brand-new Golf R-Line to the lucky person who hit a hole in one of number nine, however despite much enthusiasm and talent, no one could quite snag the ace.
“We were thrilled to have a go ourselves and get amongst it with our own team, made up of a mix of our staff and supporters of the business. It was such an enjoyable day, made even more special by the opportunity to raise funds for such a worthy cause” – Thomas Palmer, New and Used Vehicle Manager
In partnership with the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust, we are honored to continue contributing to their mission of providing a home-away-from-home for patients and their whanau during some of their most challenging moments, For over 30 years, Rānui House has offered this essential support to thousands of patients and their families who’ve had to leave their homes to seek lifesaving medical treatment.
In 1990, the Bone Marrow Cancer trust was founded by a dedicated group of volunteers and hematologists with a clear goal—to raise the necessary funds for the establishment of New Zealand’s first bone marrow transplant unit, to be located at Christchurch hospital.
By 1993, Rānui House (known as “little Rānui”) was built, but it quickly became apparent that the demand for accommodation was higher than expected, with families needing support but limited space available.
In repose, the Rānui Apartments were opened in November 2024, offering 54 spacious, purposefully designed apartments to complement the Bone Marrow Cancer Trusts existing house facilities. Meanwhile, the trust continues to fund lifesaving and world-cancer research through its annual grant program.
